This African wilderness found in the rocky, semi dry Karamoja province valleys on the distant northern national border of Uganda and Sothern Sudan. It is the second biggest yet remotest National Park in Uganda, however just a few people have had the opportunity of exploring this park; however, the dazzling beauty of this perfect wilderness is extremely fascinating. Kidepo is ideal for Uganda safaris with wildlife plus various bird species for birders. It prides in a bird list of more than 475 species, making the second to Queen Elizabeth National Park. In addition you will be able to interact with the Karamanjong

Day 1: Drive to Kitgum

Day 2: Karamajong Culture visit, Game Drive and Scenic Viewing

Day 3: full day game drives

Day 4: Scenic Viewing and return to Kampala

Day 1: Kampala – Kitgum
After your early Breakfast, you will pick from your residence or from our offices and proceed to Kidepo National Park through the shortest (656 km) route which will take you from Kampala-Gulu –Kitgum. We shall have a lunch stopover in Gulu and after that we pass by the Aruu Falls which are cascading streams of roaring waterfalls offering a thrilling unforgettable, adventurous experience and an extremely beautiful view. The waterfalls are a very vibrant sight to watch as water gushes down the rocks and after we shall continue to our lodge in Kitgum.

Day 2: Drive to Kideo, Visit Lorokul (karamajong culture) and Game Drive
After our early morning breakfast, we shall drive to kidepo national park but on way will shall take a visit to the Lorokul Cultural Group and explore the fascinating, ancient culture of the Karamojong. Visit traditional homesteads, sample local dishes and hear stories of the folklore of this remote tribe. You will personally have a great evening as you watch these people go about their day to day activities and see their cultural practices. At the finish of this tour you will be in position to understand why these people are very reluctant to accepting modernity over their traditional practices, after having that experience, continue to the park, and have lunch.

after lunch, you will go for evening game drive on which you will go through the Narus Valley where you will see elephants, zebras, herds of buffaloes, giraffes, plus if lucky a couple of lions, cheetahs and the leopard. In addition you will have an opportunity to see various birds too. You will make stops whenever you want to take photos and even watch the various birds and animals during the drive

Day 3: Full day Game Drives
take an early breakfast before setting out for a nature walk to see a different plant and animal species within the park. Head back to the camp for brief mid-afternoon rest and lunch. Take another exciting game drive across savannah, hills, small forests, dry river beds and rings of mountains around you.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will have game drive to the gorgeous Kanangorok hot spring. There you will see several animals plus birds wandering around such as the Ostrich. Later return to the camp where you will have rest.

Day 4: Scenic Viewing and Return to Kampala
you will have a very early morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala as you enjoy the beautiful scenery during your drive l back to the capital Kampala stopping along the way to have lunch

Transport

We use the Min-vans with 4wd. they seat 1 to the maximum of 8 persons travelling. They are well customized with a pop up roof which gives a wide viewing 360 angle, air conditioned, comfortable seats; it’s a good ideal mostly for the budget safaris.

Accommodation - Budget;

these accommodation for this tour will be staying in UWA simple Bandas, but they are self contained rooms with hot water and you can taste the true karamajong safari experience.
